We are dedicated to the health, structure, temperament and
well being of our wonderful breed.

Conformation Events, or Dog Shows, are competitive events for purebreds where a judge evaluates a dog's structure as it compares to a written description of the perfect specimen of that breed, called a standard. While it may appear that dogs are being judged against one another, each dog is actually being compared to the judge's mental image of the perfect dog of that breed.

Tommy's presence in the ring exuded a "ship at full sail on calm open waters." The reality of which showed the reach and drive of his gait, showing wonderful forward movement as though he is trying to pull as much ground past him as possible. Tommy was briefly handled by Chelsea as he received his initial ring training and CGC then moved on to finish his American championship in only 8 short shows (including a 5 point major over specials) quickly in May 2006 at the age of 17 months with his handler and best buddy Pat Martello on lead.

Thank you to all the judges & admirers who recognized Tommy's soundness, movement and unforgettable melting eyes all to which we have seen him pass down to his progeny. 

We are very proud to announce that Tommy is the sire of our first home bred champion, "Sonny"  Am. Ch. Donlee Madrigal's And The Beat Goes On.

Sonny is our very first home bred Champion here at Donlee! Sonny is out of Tommy & Sera's long awaited litter and has proven to be everything I had hoped for! Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments and positive encouragement to continue this line in our breeding program. Sonny was born right here at Donlee Shih Tzu.  Sonny is now fondly owned by David Ritchkoff of  Madrigal Shih Tzu in Boston, MA..  Aside from being a very friendly, loving boy, this flashy young man has a lovely head and absolute correct dentition. I am very proud that Tommy and Sera  produce such beautifully structured puppies with beautiful movement, beautiful heads & such promise!  It just goes to show what consistency in training  and the absolute best of love and care yield. We look forward to having Sonny sire future litters here at Donlee Shih Tzu. We are so very proud of him! A special thanks to Ashley King & David for their exquisite handling skills for finishing Sonny in 10 short shows. I am planning a repeat breeding this Fall 2008. Inquiries welcome.
